Why PDF portfolios are exhausting

If you've ever built a portfolio PDF for a residency or gallery, you know the drill:

  • Juggling InDesign, Canva, Google Docs and templates that never quite fit your work.
  • Rebuilding the same portfolio from scratch for every application.
  • Spending hours on layout when you just want to focus on your art.

  2. Add your CV, biography and artist statement with guidance on length.
  3. Upload up to 15 artworks with title, medium, year and dimensions.
  4. MyArtPDF lays everything out in a gallery-ready PDF.
  5. Export and save your project as a .myartpdf file for later.

Everything runs locally on your Mac. No cloud. No account.

Built by an artist, for artists.

Based on Alexandre Desane's own experience.

I never enjoyed building my own PDF portfolios. I got lost in Canva, I broke layouts in InDesign, and I spent hours tweaking documents when I just wanted to send my work.

I wanted a tool that kept everything in one place — CV, biography, statement, images — and produced a clean, professional PDF without needing to think about typography or layout.

MyArtPDF started as a tool for my own practice. The more I worked on it, the more it felt wrong to keep it private. We already pay for studios, materials and submission fees. Creating a serious portfolio PDF shouldn't be another barrier.

The goal is simple: every artist should be able to create a gallery-ready PDF portfolio, CV, biography and statement for free, without friction.

Questions artists ask.

  • Is MyArtPDF available right now?

Not yet. The tool is currently being developed and tested. Sign up above to be notified when it launches.

  • Will the core features be free?

Yes. The core experience — one full portfolio with CV, biography, statement and up to 15 artworks — will stay free so that any artist can create a gallery-ready PDF without cost.

  • How much does MyArtPDF Pro cost?

MyArtPDF Pro is a one-time purchase at €34 — no subscription, no recurring fees. It unlocks unlimited portfolios, unlimited CVs, biographies and statements, exhibition catalogues, price catalogues, and print-quality PDF export. See full pricing →

  • Do I need an account?

No. MyArtPDF is designed as a local-first tool. Your data lives on your device. You can export everything as a .myartpdf file if you want to keep an archive or move to another Mac.

  • Does MyArtPDF send my portfolio data anywhere?

No. Your artworks, texts, CV, biography and statement stay on your device. MyArtPDF does not upload your portfolio to any server. The only network activity is optional license validation for Pro users and anonymous site analytics — never your portfolio content.

  • Which Mac does MyArtPDF work on?

MyArtPDF runs on macOS with Apple Silicon (M1 and later) and Intel Macs. It has been tested on macOS Sonoma. No Windows or iOS version is currently available.

  • Why does macOS show a warning when I open MyArtPDF?

MyArtPDF is distributed directly — not through the Mac App Store. macOS shows a security prompt the first time you open any app downloaded from the web. To open it: right-click the app icon, choose Open, then confirm. You only need to do this once. MyArtPDF is notarized by Apple, which means Apple has verified it contains no malware.

  • How does the Pro license work?

After purchase you receive a license key by email. Open MyArtPDF, go to Preferences, and enter your key to unlock Pro features immediately. No account needed. If you move to a new Mac, re-download the app and enter the same key. Lost your key? Email us and we'll resend it.

  • Can I use my .myartpdf file on another Mac?

Yes. Your project is saved as a .myartpdf file on your device. Copy it to any Mac running MyArtPDF and open it — your portfolio, artworks and texts will be exactly as you left them.
